📄 Documents to bring
- Photocopy of citizenship certificate
- Passport-size photo
- Ownership or rental agreement for the business premises
- PAN, if you already have one
- Application stating the business type and name
🧭 Steps
- 1 Get the business registration form from your ward/municipality office
- 2 Fill it out and attach the documents above
- 3 Pay the registration fee at the counter
- 4 The ward secretary verifies and issues the Business Registration Certificate
- 5 Display a copy of the certificate at your business premises — this is a legal requirement
💡 Tips
- Larger businesses (private limited companies) also need registration at the Office of the Company Registrar, in addition to the local one
- If turnover is significant, PAN/VAT registration is separate and also required
