📄 Documents to bring

  • Photocopy of citizenship certificate
  • Passport-size photo
  • Ownership or rental agreement for the business premises
  • PAN, if you already have one
  • Application stating the business type and name

🧭 Steps

  1. 1 Get the business registration form from your ward/municipality office
  2. 2 Fill it out and attach the documents above
  3. 3 Pay the registration fee at the counter
  4. 4 The ward secretary verifies and issues the Business Registration Certificate
  5. 5 Display a copy of the certificate at your business premises — this is a legal requirement

💡 Tips

  • Larger businesses (private limited companies) also need registration at the Office of the Company Registrar, in addition to the local one
  • If turnover is significant, PAN/VAT registration is separate and also required
