🧾 Fee

A small government revenue fee

⏱️ Time

Usually same-day to a few days once documents are complete

📄 Documents to bring

  • Birth registration certificate
  • Marriage registration certificate
  • Husband's citizenship certificate
  • Father's citizenship certificate
  • Ward recommendation letter from the husband's ward, if updating to his address
  • Passport-size photo

🧭 Steps

  1. 1 If you haven't registered your marriage yet, do that first
  2. 2 If updating to your husband's address, get a recommendation from his ward office
  3. 3 Submit the application at the DAO with the documents above
  4. 4 Receive your citizenship certificate (new or updated) once verified

💡 Tips

  • Keeping your father's surname/address is also allowed — updating to your husband's is not mandatory
  • This certificate may later be needed to keep your name consistent across passport, bank accounts, etc.
