How to pre-enroll online with the Department of Passports and get your e-passport through the District Administration Office.

34-page: NPR 5,000; 66-page: NPR 10,000; fast-track service costs more

Regular service: 7–14 days; fast-track: 1–2 days
📄 Documents to bring
- Printed pre-enrollment form from emrtds.nepalpassport.gov.np
- Original citizenship certificate plus photocopy (front and back)
- National Identity Number (NIN) — mandatory
- Previous passport, if renewing
- Marriage certificate, if surname changed after marriage
- Migration certificate, if your current address differs from your citizenship
🧭 Steps
- 1 Go to emrtds.nepalpassport.gov.np and complete the online pre-enrollment
- 2 Choose page count (34/66) and service type (regular/fast-track)
- 3 Print the form and bring it with the documents above to the DAO
- 4 Attend your appointment for biometric capture (photo, fingerprints)
- 5 Pay the fee and collect your passport when ready
💡 Tips
- If you don't have a National Identity Number (NIN) yet, get that first
- Don't skip the online pre-enrollment — it's mandatory before visiting the office
